Over the past twenty-eight years, Bob has developed an extensive litigation practice combining both civil and criminal cases. In that time, Bob has helped countless individuals faced with legal disputes requiring court-room expertise. Bob has conducted cases at the trial level, and appeal courts throughout Ontario, representing individuals in areas such as criminal defence, personal injury, disability and wrongful death claims. In addition, Bob has assisted clients with family law disputes such as child custody, property settlements, and estate conflicts. Since 1991, Bob has also acted as counsel for the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, handling their drug test appeals, and athlete reinstatement cases. He was co-counsel to the (former) Sports Medicine Council of Canada, and appeared before the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Use of Drugs and Banned Practices Intended to Increase Athletic Performance (the “Dubin Inquiry”). Bob is fluently bilingual.
In addition to his litigation practice, Bob has been involved in the practical application of the law through teaching and community service. He was formerly a sessional lecturer at Carleton University in Family and Young Offender law, and has also lectured at the Ontario Bar Admission Course. He is a past president of the County of Carleton Law Association (1992).
