Danesh Rana is originally from St. John's, Newfoundland. He attended Memorial University, obtaining a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Math. He then attended the University of New Brunswick for law school. While pursuing his law degree, Danesh volunteered at the the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission.

Danesh was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2008 and opened his own firm. Danesh joined Burke-Robertson in March 2009 and his practice consists mainly in civil litigation, with an emphasis on employment law and insurance work. In his spare time Danesh enjoys basketball, 'attempting' to golf, and playing in a trivia league.
