Tom was a long-time partner at Burke-Robertson until his passing in June 2016.

After graduating from Queen's University in 1973, Tom was called to the bar with honours in 1975. He became a partner at Burke-Robertson in 1980. During his career, he specialized in civil litigation, sports law, and arbitration. He was a conscientious, skillful, and widely respected lawyer who treated everyone, from the least experienced to the most senior, with equal respect. Above and beyond his professional achievements, Tom was a dedicated and lifelong volunteer. He served in various capacities, including Chair of the Board of Directors, with the United Way of Ottawa-Carleton. He was also on the Board of Directors of the William E. Hay Centre and the Caledon Institute for Social Policy, and, more recently, the Ottawa Community Housing Foundation. More on Tom's legacy can be found here.
